Nouakchott (Mauritania), December 9, 2024 (SPS) — The Sahrawi Republic is participating in the Ministerial Conference on Education held in the Mauritanian capital, Nouakchott, with the presence of ministers, experts, and partner organizations.
The meeting, organized by the Department of Education, Technology, and Innovation of the African Union in cooperation with the host country, Mauritania, and UNICEF, is attended by the Minister of Education and Vocational Training, Khatri Addouh, accompanied by the Advisor to the Presidency of the Republic, Salek Bobbih.
The conference, under the theme "Educating and Qualifying Our Youth for a Prosperous and Integrated Africa," will continue for three days, focusing on key areas of interest for the continent, including reviewing progress made in the African education strategy and the extent of commitment to it, while providing opportunities.
The conference will also discuss intensifying efforts to secure appropriate funding to improve the quality of education and activate necessary mechanisms, aimed at promoting successful models of quality education that meet the demands of the 21st century.
The opening session witnessed the launch of six workshops, attended by around thirty ministers and deputy ministers from twenty-seven African countries.
