Mexico City (Mexico), October 2, 2024 (SPS) - The Prime Minister, member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, Bushraya Hamoudi Bouyon, participated as the representative of the President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, in the inauguration ceremony of the elected president of the United Mexican States, Claudia Sheinbaum.
Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum took the constitutional oath before the deputies and senators gathered in Congress, in the presence of heads of state and government and international organizations. She won the presidential elections last June, obtaining nearly 60% of the votes. Sheinbaum belongs to the ruling left-wing party "National Regeneration Movement" (MORENA).
In her speech, Sheinbaum stated that respecting the right of peoples to self-determination remains the primary objective of Mexico's foreign policy, and she will remain committed to defending it as enshrined in the UN Charter.
For his part, Prime Minister Bushraya Hamoudi Beyoun praised Mexico's firm positions towards the Sahrawi people and its just cause.
