President Brahim Ghali extended his condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, highlighting his contribution as the President of the Uruguayan Friendship Association with the Sahrawi Republic and his role in spreading awareness of the Sahrawi cause internationally.
"With the passing of Emiliano Gomez Lopez, the condolence message to the family states, "the Sahrawi people have lost a dedicated defender who tirelessly fought for their cause, and a reference point in the region and the American continent regarding the Western Sahara issue from a solid historical and cultural international perspective."
