Minnesota (United States), 8 April 2024 (SPS) - The American United National Antiwar Coalition has declared its solidarity with the people of Western Sahara, the last colony in Africa, in their just struggle for national liberation, self-determination, and independence.

In a message of solidarity to the Sahrawi people, UNAWC expressed its unwavering position on the Sahrawi issue, which was articulated during the coalition's recent conference in Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA.

The Coalition condemned the ongoing illegal Moroccan military occupation of Western Sahara, the plundering of Sahrawi natural resources by Morocco and other countries, including the European Union, and Morocco's repression of Sahrawi civilians and activists.

"We will continue to fight to overturn the disastrous and illegal recognition by the administration of former US President Donald Trump of Morocco's claim to sovereignty over Western Sahara," the Coalition said, calling on all progressive and revolutionary parties and organizations to raise awareness on the Sahrawi people's struggle and to enable them to exercise their right to self-determination and national liberation.

The Coalition also called for continued efforts to achieve the complete decolonization of Western Sahara.

The United National Anti-War Coalition is an American organization that brings together organizations and movements that fight against war. One of its principles is to support the right of all oppressed peoples to self-determination and to determine their own path to liberation.
