Shahid Al-Hafed, November 29, 2023 (SPS) - The member of the National Secretariat and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Mohamed Sidati, received an important delegation from the African National Congress Party (ANC), which includes 12 members led by the Deputy Secretary-General of the party.
The ANC delegation is leading a visit to the Sahrawi refugee camps in order to renew support and solidarity with the Sahrawi people and their just cause, as well as to strengthen the historical relations between the African National Congress (ANC) and the Polisario Front.
The developments of the Sahrawi issue at the continental and international levels formed the focus of talks that brought together the two parties, where the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Mohamed Sidati, praised the principled and firm positions of South Africa towards the Sahrawi people and their just cause, indicating that the visit of the ANC delegation falls within the framework of strengthening the deep-rooted fraternal relations between the two peoples, which it dates back to long years of struggle against colonialism and racial discrimination, and represents an opportunity to expand areas of cooperation and raise them to a qualitative level that embodies complete harmony and the common will of the leaderships of the two countries and their peoples.
For its part, the delegation of the African National Congress Party (ANC) expressed its continued support for the Sahrawi issue through advocacy in all international forums, renewing the strengthening of solidarity and alliance with the Polisario Front and the Sahrawi people, and engaging in intensive unified work on both fronts for liberation and self-determination.
The two parties also exchanged symbolic gifts that express the depth of bilateral relations between the Sahrawi and South African parties and work to develop and strengthen them at the continental and international levels, especially in light of the developments witnessed by the entire world.
The visit of the ANC delegation to the Sahrawi refugee camps will be an opportunity to learn about the reality of the Sahrawi people and the functioning of state institutions and the Polisario Front.
