Wilaya de Auserd, February 28, 2017 (SPS) -  Participants in the international sporting event, Sahara Marathon 2017, organized a solidarity meeting with the prisoners of Gdeim Izik and all the Saharawi detainees jailed in Morocco.
All the interventions demanded the unconditional release of Sahrawi political prisoners, denouncing the unjust trials to which they were subjected unjustly by the authorities of the Moroccan occupation.

Western Sahara marathon is message of peace, way to fight

Smara (Sahrawi refugee camps), February 28, 2017 (SPS) -  The international Western Sahara marathon, which kicked off Tuesday, in the province of Al Ayun (Refugee camps) is a bearer of deep meanings in the Sahrawi people’s revolutionary journey.
It is both “a message of peace from the Sahrawi people to the world,” and “a battle front for freedom,” said the Sahrawi minister of Youth and Sports Ahmed Lahbib.

Zambia denies withdrawing recognition of SADR

Lusaka (Zambia), February 28, 2017 - Zambia did not withdraw its recognition of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), said the Zambian ministry of Foreign Affairs, bringing an official denial to the information published by the Moroccan Press Agency (MAP), relayed by media.

Western Sahara: Forty-one years of struggle, exile and determination

Paris, February 28, 2017 - The French Association of Friends of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic said Monday in Paris "41 years of struggle, exile and determination (...) it's too long" for the Sahrawi people, who are waiting to exercise their right to self-determination.
 
"Forty-one years of struggle, exile and determination to exercise their (Sahrawi people) right to self-determination and independence, it's too long," said the Association on the occasion of the 41st anniversary of the SADR Proclamation.
 

Morocco's announcement of withdrawing troops from Al Guergarat region, maneuver

Smara (Refugees Camps), Feb 27, 2017 (SPS) - Sahrawi president and Polisario Front General Secretary Brahim Ghali said that the announcement of Morocco to withdraw its troops from Western Sahara’s Al Guergarat region was a maneuver and a diversion.
He added that the Moroccan occupier should assume the impacts of its colonial practices that may compromise the ceasefire.

Smara, 27 Feb 2017 (SPS) The festivities celebrating the 41st anniversary of the proclamation of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) began on Monday in Smara with wide international participation.
These festivities began with the raising of the national flag and the singing of the national anthem "Ana Errafik el Moustahel", first performed in Bir Lahlou after the SADR proclamation on February 27, 1976, following the departure of the last Spanish soldier from the Saharawi territories.

US Congressional delegation renews in Smara support to Sahrawis right to self-determination

Smara (Refugee Camps), Feb 27, 2017 (SPS) – The US Congressional Delegation chaired by Senator James Inhofe on visit to the Sahrawi refugee camps reaffirmed Sunday in Smara" its constant position" and continued support to the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination.
It’s necessary that the U.S. work to end the Moroccan occupation of Western Sahara, it added.

Smara (refugee camps)-Speaker of the Sahrawi Parliament Khatri Addouh stressed Sunday "the recognition of the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination contributes to strengthening peace, security, coexistence and integration in the region."
"The recognition of the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination will lay the foundations of peace, security, coexistence and integration in the region," said Addouh in a meeting with a US Congressional delegation led by James Inhofe to the Sahrawi refugee camps in Smara.
