AU should ensure respect of Western Sahara territorial integrity

New York (United Nations) February 15, 2017 (SPS) -The members of the African Union (AU) should ensure that Morocco respects the territorial integrity of Western Sahara, said Tuesday in New York the representative of Frente POLISARIO to the United Nations (UN), Ahmed Boukhari.
"The international community and the AU member states should ensure that Morocco complies with the UN Charter and the AU Constitutive Act, which it ratified," Boukhari told international news conference in New York.

Western Sahara: WSRW underlines need to struggle to enforce law

Minister of Information takes part in African conference on internet governance

Spanish medical team in Sahrawi refugee camps next Tuesday

Madrid, February 12, 2017 (SPS) - The friendly association with the Sahrawi people of the Spanish city of Burgos announced Saturday that a specialized medical team and a large batch of medical supplies will be sent to the Sahrawi refugee camps.
The medical team, which will stay for two weeks comprises two surgeons (a general practitioner and a traumatologist) an anesthetist, a primary care physician and an internist plus four nurses, said Mayte Gimenez, the president of the association.

In violation of the CJUE ruling, France receives a second shipment of Western Sahara

Paris, February 11, 2017 (SPS) - A second shipment of goods from Western Sahara is due to arrive in Rouen, Normandy, France on Saturday, as opposed to the decision of the European Union Court of Justice of 21 December, as reported by Western Sahara Resource Watch (WSRW) .
The BBC Magellan anchored at the port of the Saharawi capital of El Aaiun was seen and photographed on 4 February with salt cargo from the territory of Western Sahara occupied by Morocco, the same source said.

Danish company stops salt imports from Western Sahara: Important victory for Sahrawi people

London, February 10, 2017 (SPS) - Western Sahara Resource Watch (WSRW) said that the end of salt export from the occupied Western Sahara to Denmark was "an important victory" for the Sahrawi people.
"This is an important victory for the people of Western Sahara. It means that the occupation of the colony becomes a little less profitable," said WSRW following the decision of the Danish company Dansk Vejsalt to stop all its activities in the occupied Western Sahara as from 31 January.

Spain: Spanish associations active in collecting humanitarian aid for the Saharawi refugee camps

Madrid, February 09, 2017 (SPS) - Spanish associations with the Saharawi people are currently working to collect humanitarian aid that will be sent to the Sahrawi refugee camps.
In the province of Andalusia, associations of solidarity with the Saharawi people met recently at the "Machado Antonio de Baeza" University to develop a "plan to encourage and support" the settlement of the conflict in Western Sahara.
