London (United Kingdom), May 16, 2025 (SPS) – The British government has dismissed Morocco’s propaganda and the misleading claims of its lobbying groups, refuting allegations from a campaign aimed at falsely linking the Sahrawi people’s struggle and the Polisario Front to terrorism.
The response came after Conservative MP Charlie Dewhirst posed a question to the UK Foreign Secretary regarding allegations of ties between the Polisario Front and Iran’s Revolutionary Guard and Hezbollah, including claims that these groups had trained the Polisario and supplied it with drone weapons, as well as the potential implications for British interests in North and West Africa.
The Foreign Secretary stated that the United Kingdom has no evidence to support these allegations and reaffirmed its position of supporting UN-led efforts to reach a mutually agreed, peaceful solution that guarantees the people of Western Sahara their right to self-determination.
