Shaheed El-Hafed (Refugee Camps), 29 April 2025 (SPS)  – The President of the National Council, Hamma Salama, emphasized on Tuesday the necessity of combining national and international efforts to confront the Moroccan occupation’s persistent and blatant denial of the Sahrawi people’s legitimate and inalienable right to self-determination and independence.

Hamma Salama’s remarks came during his supervision of the opening of the National Council’s spring session, where he stressed that the current phase "requires closing ranks and intensifying the struggle on all fronts - political, diplomatic, and on the ground - to expose the occupation’s policies and advocate for the cause of Sahrawi civilian prisoners in Moroccan occupation jails."

Hamma Salama praised the national and international momentum supporting the Freedom March demanding the release of prisoners, commending the involvement of members, committees, and offices of the National Council in this campaign, which reflects the spirit of solidarity and unity.

In conclusion, the speaker stressed the need for vigilance and cohesion to counter all schemes orchestrated by the Moroccan occupation and its allies, "especially after the resumption of armed struggle, the daily losses suffered by the occupation army, and the economic drain on its resources - which have worsened its debt and increased internal tensions and popular unrest across various regions of the Kingdom of Morocco."
