Occupied El Aaiun, December 29, 2024 (SPS) - The Sahrawi civilian prisoner Brahim Dadi Ismaili, among the Gdim Izik group, was subjected to mistreatment and medical neglect after being transferred to the hospital on Wednesday, for surgery on his left ear. This occurred due to the actions of the Moroccan General Delegation for Prison Administration and the staff at the hospital in Agadir, Morocco.

Brahim's sister reported to the Sahrawi Prisoners' Protection Association that her brother was humiliated by the Moroccan prison authorities, who deliberately handed him over to Moroccan police. They placed him in a room equipped with cameras, violating the privacy of the prisoner, where he was restrained by hand and foot to the bed for at least two days.

She added that brother did not receive any medical treatment during his stay in the hospital due to the humiliating treatment he endured. Additionally, the anesthesiologist decided to postpone the surgery without informing him or his family of the real reasons for such a decision. This surgery had been canceled several times since last August, and no timeline was provided for when he would receive the necessary treatment and medication.
