Wilaya of Auserd, April 10, 2026 (SPS) – The member of the National Secretariat, President of the National Council, Mr. Bachir Mustapha Sayed, received in the Wilaya of Auserd a delegation from Northeast Europe—specifically Estonia and Lithuania—participating in the events marking the 50th anniversary of the proclamation of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.
During the meeting, the President of the National Council welcomed the delegation, which is visiting the Sahrawi refugee camps and state institutions for the first time, emphasizing the importance of the visit in learning about the resilience of the Sahrawi people in defending their just cause.
He reviewed the latest developments of the Sahrawi issue at the United Nations level, as well as the role of popular diplomacy and civil society in defending just causes.
He stressed the need to intensify efforts to ensure respect for international law and to create an environment of trust and cooperation among nations to confront all forms of colonialism and racial discrimination, and to show solidarity with the Sahrawi people, who continue to struggle for the liberation of their land.
He further affirmed that, as the Sahrawi state commemorates its 50th anniversary, it sends a clear message to the world that it is moving forward on the path toward the completion of national sovereignty.
For their part, the members of the delegation expressed their admiration for the Sahrawi people’s experience in building state institutions despite the situation of exile, reaffirming their support for human rights and freedom for the Sahrawi people.
