Wilaya of Auserd, April 9, 2026 (SPS) – Member of the National Secretariat, President of the National Council, Mr. Bachir Mustapha Sayed, received Wednesday in the Wilaya of Auserd an Algerian parliamentary delegation from the Council of the Nation participating in the activities marking the 50th anniversary of the proclamation of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.
The delegation was led by Mr. Fateh Boutbiq, representing the President of the Council of the Nation, Mr. Azzouz Nasri.
During the meeting, the President of the National Council welcomed the Algerian delegation, expressing his thanks and appreciation for this participation, which reflects the values of loyalty and solidarity that Algeria—through its rich history, its noble people, and its wise leadership—has embodied over the decades.
For his part, the representative of the President of the Algerian Council of the Nation reaffirmed Algeria’s firm position in support of the Sahrawi cause, considering it a cause embraced by all segments of the Algerian people. He stressed that Algeria cannot abandon the Sahrawi people and will continue to defend their rights until they achieve freedom and independence.
Mr. Fateh Boutbiq also emphasized the strong desire to strengthen bilateral partnership between the Algerian Parliament and its Sahrawi counterpart, and to work within available platforms to advocate for ending colonialism in the last colony on the African continent, particularly within the Pan-African Parliament.
During the meeting, Mr. Fateh Boutbiq delivered a congratulatory message from the President of the Algerian Council of the Nation, Mr. Azzouz Nasri, to the President of the National Council, Mr. Bachir Mustapha Sayed, on the occasion of his appointment as head of the Sahrawi National Council, wishing him success in carrying out his noble duties.
