Mexico City (Mexico), March 11, 2026 (SPS) – Margarita García, president of the Mexican–Sahrawi Parliamentary Friendship Group, in cooperation with the Mexican Workers’ University, organized a conference titled “Women’s Participation in the Development of Trade Union Work” on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
During the conference, the Sahrawi Ambassador to Mexico highlighted the historical and militant role of Sahrawi women and their struggles in both the liberation and nation-building processes, as well as their contribution to the institutional development of the Sahrawi State.
He also addressed the human rights situation of Sahrawi women in the occupied cities, referring to the abuses they face at the hands of Moroccan occupation forces and the undermining of their fundamental rights.
