Shaheed El-Hafed, 2 January 2026 (SPS) – A youth delegation from Switzerland and Germany paid Thursday a visit to the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and African Affairs.

The delegation received a comprehensive briefing on the latest developments in the national cause from the Minister of State in charge of diplomatic affairs, Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Salek, who presented to the youth delegation a full chronology of the Sahrawi cause and the developments it is witnessing at all levels.

The diplomat highlighted the most important gains achieved by the Sahrawi people internationally, such as the consolidation of their inalienable, non-negotiable, and non-expiring right to self-determination and independence, with the United Nations affirming that the Sahrawi question is an issue of decolonization. He added that the Sahrawi state maintains diplomatic and bilateral relations with many countries in Africa, Latin America, and Asia, which strengthens its regional and international presence despite all attempts by the Moroccan occupation to hinder the path of international recognition and to confiscate the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination and independence.

The delegation also visited several wilayas (provinces) and national institutions, including the Wilaya of Smara, the National Museum of Resistance, the Association of Landmine Victims, and the Sahrawi National Council, to find out about the pioneering experience of the Sahrawi state in institutional building.
