Cádiz (Spain), 20 November 2025 (SPS) – The eighth conference of municipalities and institutions in solidarity with the just struggle of the Sahrawi people, and twinned with the municipalities of the wilaya of Auserd, opened in the city of Puerto Real in the Spanish province of Cádiz, in the presence of a Sahrawi delegation that included the Wali of Auserd, Ms. Khira Bulahi Bad, the Minister of Public Health, Mr. Salek Baba Hassana, and the Secretary-General of the Sahrawi Workers’ Union, Mr. Nafei Ahmed Mohamed.
The conference, organized by the Federation of Associations and Institutions in Solidarity with the Sahrawi People in the region, began with the raising of the flag of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic in the main square of the Puerto Real municipality, which is hosting the eighth edition of the event.
The conference featured several speeches and presentations, all of which emphasized the continued support for the efforts and just struggle of the Sahrawi people for freedom and independence.
Several municipalities and institutions in the province of Cádiz maintain friendship and cooperation agreements and twinning arrangements with their Sahrawi counterparts in the wilaya of Auserd.
Solidarity groups in the region have consistently organized an annual conference for municipalities supporting the Sahrawi people’s just struggle, with this year marking its eighth edition.
