Cuba reiterates support for Sahrawi people and their just cause

New York (United Nations), September 28, 2026 (SPS) - Cuba has reaffirmed its support for the Sahrawi people, their just cause, and their legitimate right to build their independent state.

Speaking at the 80th session of the General Assembly, Cuban Foreign Minister Mr. Bruno Eduardo Rodríguez reiterated "Cuba's stance and support for the Sahrawi people and their just cause."

In this context, the head of Cuban diplomacy stated, "Africa, the bedrock of humanity, can always count on the support of Cuba, both from the government and the people." He further emphasized, "We support their demands for reparation and compensation for the damages caused by occupation."
