
Havana (Cuba), September 1, 2025 (SPS) - The Sahrawi Jurists' Union signed a cooperation and partnership agreement with the Cuban Jurists' Union to enhance expertise, studies, and best practices in the legal field.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the Sahrawi side by the Sahrawi Ambassador to Cuba, Omar Boulsan, representing the Secretary-General of the Sahrawi Jurists' Union, Moulay Ahmed Labheida, and on behalf of the Cuban side by Mr. José Alexis Ginarte Gato, President of the National Union of Cuban Jurists.
The agreement promotes of cooperation and mutual support in accordance with law, sovereignty, and independence.
It also affirms support for the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination and independence, in accordance with international law, and condemns the illegal exploitation of Sahrawi natural resources.
The agreement calls for the release of Sahrawi political prisoners in Moroccan jails and the lifting of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed on the Cuban people, while respecting their sovereignty and independence.
