Minister of Education and Vocational Training congratulates baccalaureate graduates, praises their efforts

Boujdour Wilaya, September 2, 2026 (SPS) – Member of the National Secretariat, Minister of Education and Vocational Training, Mr. Abdelkader Taleb Omar, on Wednesday praised the efforts made by students who successfully passed the Baccalaureate examinations, congratulating their families and the educational community, as well as host country Algeria, for their joint efforts to ensure quality education and help students successfully overcome this important stage of their education.

In a speech delivered on the occasion, the Minister called on the students to make greater efforts in their academic studies and to pursue knowledge.

In this context, the Minister highlighted the importance of education and knowledge in the life of peoples, stressing the need for Sahrawi students to strive for excellence so that they can become a strong support for their people and state in various fields of life, particularly in technological fields. He cited examples and verses from the Holy Quran encouraging the pursuit of knowledge and learning.

The Minister expressed his gratitude to all those who have contributed to educating the children of the Sahrawi people, foremost among them Algeria, which has opened the doors of its educational and vocational training institutions to Sahrawi students, enabling them to acquire knowledge and complete all stages of education before returning to serve the Sahrawi people and its national institutions.

In the same context, he praised the role played by the Cuban educational mission present in the Sahrawi refugee camps, which teaches at Simon Bolivar School and has shared the difficult conditions of exile. He thanked its members for the efforts they have made to educate Sahrawi boys and girls, as well as for Cuba's continued reception of Sahrawi students over the years.

Mr. Taleb Omar also extended his thanks to all friends and partners who have contributed to building the Sahrawi education system and hosted Sahrawi students in their respective countries.

The Minister revealed that the success rate among Sahrawi students studying in Algeria in 2026 reached 56.89%.

As for students graduating from the Simon Bolivar National School, the success rate reached 96.66%, bringing the overall Baccalaureate success rate to 65.06%.

The Minister stressed that this success marks a new stage in the students' educational journey toward higher education, particularly the beginning of specialization in various scientific fields.
