Bir Lehlou (Sahrawi Republic), August 28, 2026 (SPS) – President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, on Friday sent a message of condolences to President of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, following the loss of lives caused by wildfires that broke out in several Algerian provinces.
In his message, President Brahim Ghali expressed his heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathy to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and, through him, to Algeria as a whole, its government and people, particularly the families and relatives of the victims.
President Ghali said that the Sahrawi side had been following with deep sorrow “the painful and sad news about the fires that broke out in some central and eastern provinces of brotherly Algeria.”
“In such difficult moments, I extend to Your Excellency, on behalf of the people and government of the Sahrawi Republic, my deepest condolences and sincere sympathy, and through you, to Algeria as a whole, government and people, particularly the families and relatives of the victims,” he said.
President Ghali expressed confidence that “Algeria, with its great people, will soon overcome this ordeal,” commending the courage of the Algerian personnel from the relevant services and other civil and military bodies who have demonstrated exceptional ability, competence and bravery in confronting the fires and their consequences, under the personal and direct supervision of President Tebboune.
“These are difficult times for the families of the victims and all those affected by these fires,” President Ghali said, paying tribute to the souls of the Algerian citizens who lost their lives and praying to Almighty God to grant them mercy and forgiveness and to admit them into His Paradise.
He also expressed his wishes for patience and strength to the families of the victims and for a speedy recovery to all those injured.
