Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), 28 July 2026 (SPS) – The Sahrawi Republic is participating in the 49th Ordinary Session of the African Union Executive Council, taking place on 28 and 29 July in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa.
The Sahrawi Republic is represented at the session by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and African Affairs, Mohamed Yeslem Beissat, accompanied by the Permanent Representative of the Sahrawi Republic to the African Union, Lamine Baali, and the Mission's Counsellor, Aman Sidi Abdallah.
The Executive Council is discussing several key issues, including the report of the Committee on the Implementation of Agenda 2063, the report of the Committee on Accelerating the Ratification and Implementation of the Treaties of the Organization of African Unity (OAU) and the African Union (AU), and the progress report on the implementation of the African Union's 2026 Theme of the Year.
