Basque Country (Spain), 14 May 2026 (SPS) – The Secretary-General of the Youth Union of Saguia El Hamra and Rio de Oro (UJTSARIO), Mr. Aali Mohamed Salem, held a series of meetings with youth organizations in the Basque Country.
These meetings helped strengthen ties of solidarity and raise awareness about the just cause of the Sahrawi people, in addition to consolidating relations of cooperation with various political and youth actors.
The meetings included the Youth Directorate of the Basque Government, the Women’s Department of the Basque Government, as well as the Basque Youth Council, the youth wing of the Basque People’s Party, and the youth wing of the Basque Nationalist Party.
The meetings provided an opportunity to exchange views on the latest developments regarding the national cause and to emphasize the important role of Sahrawi youth in continuing the struggle and defending the Sahrawi people’s right to freedom and independence.
They also highlighted the importance of joint cooperation in the fields of training, cultural exchange, and solidarity work.
The meetings were attended by the Polisario Front representative in the Basque Country, Mokhtar Lebihi, and the official in charge of European youth affairs, Tata Salek Baba Hassana.
