Wilaya of Auserd, April 10, 2026 (SPS) – The member of the National Secretariat, President of the National Council, Mr. Bachir Mustapha Sayed, received on Thursday in the Wilaya of Auserd a member of Mexico’s Federal Congress, Magdalena Álvarez, from the Morena party, who is participating in the events marking the 50th anniversary of the proclamation of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.
During the meeting, the President of the National Council welcomed the guest of the Sahrawi people, expressing the depth of the bilateral relations between the two countries and the Sahrawi and Mexican peoples.
He reviewed the latest developments in the Sahrawi issue, as well as the role of parliamentary diplomacy and civil society in preserving the legacy of anti-colonialism and resisting expansionist ambitions and wars that threaten the future of just causes.
For her part, the member of Mexico’s Federal Congress expressed her pleasure at sharing in the celebrations of the Sahrawi people and her admiration for the resilience and determination she witnessed in their struggle for freedom.
