Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), February 18, 2026 (SPS) – The headquarters of the Committee of Intelligence and Security Services of Africa (CISSA), based in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa, hosted Tuesday a high-level specialized conference, bringing together Directors-General of intelligence and security services from across the African continent.
The Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic took part in the meeting with a delegation led by the National Director of the National Directorate for Security, Documentation and Institutional Protection, Mr. Hamma Ali Salem Malo, accompanied by Salek Wadadi, Coordinator with CISSA. The Sahrawi delegation contributed to the conference’s proceedings alongside their African counterparts, within the framework of strengthening coordination and consultation to address the continent’s escalating security challenges.
The conference’s discussions focused on ways to cut off sources of terrorist financing, enhance intelligence-sharing, and raise the level of operational coordination to combat transnational organized crime, particularly in light of rapid international geopolitical shifts and their direct impact on Africa’s security and stability.
The participation of the Sahrawi Republic in this continental forum reflects its firm commitment to actively contributing to joint African efforts aimed at safeguarding security and stability, and strengthening collective action to confront various cross-border threats.
