SPLA targets Moroccan occupation army bases in Smara and Guelta sectors

Bir Lehlou (Sahrawi Republic), February 16, 2026 (SPS) – Units of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army (SPLA) has targeted Moroccan occupation army bases and entrenchments in the Smara and Guelta sectors, causing casualties in lives and material losses.

The military communiqué issued by the Ministry of National Defense highlighted that advanced units of our armed forces carried out a concentrated bombardment on Saturday evening targeting the headquarters of a brigade belonging to the Moroccan occupation army in the Smara sector. On Sunday morning, enemy bases and entrenchments in the Al-Ayadiyat area of the Guelta sector were also shelled.
