Paris (France), 29 November 2025 (SPS) – The Prime Minister, member of the National Secretariat, Mr. Bouchraya Hammoudi Bayoun, held a meeting with representatives of the parliamentary groups Peace and Freedom for Western Sahara from various Spanish regions, during the second day of the 49th European Coordination Conference for Solidarity with the Sahrawi People (EUCOCO).
At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed his deep gratitude for the continuous work and political initiatives of these groups, which include members of all politically represented parties in the Spanish parliament. He stressed that parliamentary support genuinely reflects the broad social and political consensus in Spain regarding the Sahrawi cause and the inalienable right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination and independence.
The Prime Minister presented the analysis of the Polisario Front regarding the latest UN Security Council resolution, confirming that the Front’s position remains firm and non-negotiable: it will never participate in any negotiations or meetings that do not guarantee the Sahrawi people’s inalienable right to self-determination, freedom, and independence—a red line and the only path to achieving a just and lasting peace for the Sahrawi cause in the service of security and stability.
Facing Morocco’s ongoing intransigence and the maneuvers of its allies, the Prime Minister laid out the Frente POLISARIO’s arguments before the Security Council, namely: the Sahrawis’ readiness to reach a mutually acceptable political agreement that considers the interests of both parties and is always based on the democratic, free, and transparent exercise of the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination.
Regarding Spain, the Prime Minister criticized the official government’s position supporting the occupation, the violation of human rights, and the continued plundering of Sahrawi resources — positions that collectively constitute a blatant contradiction not only with Spain’s strategic interests and historical principles, but also exclude it from any solution based on international law and justice.
For their part, representatives of the regional parliamentary groups reaffirmed their strong commitment to supporting the Sahrawi people and announced that coordination had begun for the next National Conference of the parliamentary groups, to be held in Navarre during the first half of 2026.
The meeting concluded with a joint statement in which they affirmed that regional parliamentary support in Spain remains one of the strongest pillars of the solidarity movement.
