Aragon (Spain), 12 November 2025 (SPS) – The General Union of Workers of Saguia el-Hamra and Rio de Oro (UGTSARIO) took part in the conference of the Aragon Trade Union (OSTA), at the invitation of the host organization.
UGTSARIO was represented at the conference, held on 10–11 November, by Mr. Mohamed Salem Hamma Abdallah, Head of Foreign Relations, Cooperation, Diaspora, and Media.
The event served as an opportunity to reaffirm support for just causes, notably the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination and independence.
In his intervention, the Sahrawi representative praised the positions of solidarity with the Sahrawi people’s struggle for freedom and independence, while condemning the stance of certain international parties that support the Moroccan occupation through illegal agreements exploiting Sahrawi natural resources—actions that clearly contradict international legality and the rulings of the United Nations and the European Court of Justice.
On the sidelines of the event, the Sahrawi representative held several bilateral meetings with other trade unions attending the conference, during which the participants reiterated their firm positions in support of the Sahrawi people and their just cause.
A cooperation agreement was also signed to strengthen trade union solidarity, raise awareness of the Sahrawi national cause, and reinforce friendship and joint work between the UGTSARIO and the OSTA.
