Algiers, October 27, 2025 (SPS) — The President of the New Algeria Party, Mr. Jamal Abdessalam, reaffirmed the party’s and Algeria’s unwavering support for the Sahrawi people in their struggle for freedom and independence, expressing his rejection of any unilateral solutions or proposals that contradict the right to self-determination guaranteed by international conventions.
This came during his meeting with the Sahrawi Ambassador to Algeria, Mr. Khatri Addouh, member of the National Secretariat, where the two discussed developments in the Sahrawi cause at both the regional and international levels—particularly at a time when the United States is attempting to impose its proposal on the UN Security Council, in an effort to circumvent international law that guarantees the Sahrawi people’s inalienable right to self-determination and independence.
In this context, Jamal Abdessalam reaffirmed his party’s continued advocacy for the Sahrawi cause in various continental and international forums, in support of the Sahrawi people and their legitimate right to independence and the establishment of their free state across their entire national territory.
For his part, Ambassador Khatri Addouh expressed the Sahrawi side’s and the Sahrawi people’s categorical rejection of the U.S. proposal, considering it incompatible with the principles of international legality and the UN resolutions that affirm the Sahrawi people’s firm right to freely determine their own future. He stressed that any attempt to impose unilateral solutions or circumvent this right is doomed to fail, as the will of the Sahrawi people is stronger than any pressure or bargaining.
Ambassador Khatri Addouh also praised the principled and consistent positions expressed by the New Algeria Party toward the Sahrawi people’s struggle and their just cause, emphasizing that these stances reflect Algeria’s steadfast approach—both government and people—in supporting just causes and rejecting all forms of domination and violations of international legality.
