Occupied El Aaiún, September 05, 2025 (SPS) - The Sahrawi Association for Victims of Grave Human Rights Violations Committed by the Moroccan State (ASVDH) has expressed its condemnation of the discrimination faced by Sahrawi civilian prisoners in Moroccan prisons.

In a statement, the Association called on the Moroccan state to cease the retaliatory policies practiced against Sahrawi prisoners and their families, which reflect a clear intent to humiliate them and deepen their suffering.

The statement emphasized that human rights are not privileges to be selectively granted but are inherent rights that must be respected for all prisoners and detainees without discrimination based on race, political affiliation, or geography.

The Association renewed its call for the release of all Sahrawi prisoners and a definitive end to this issue in Western Sahara, in line with Morocco's international commitments in the field of human rights.

The statement urged the United Nations and the UN Security Council to assume their responsibilities toward the Sahrawi people and work to ensure their enjoyment of the inalienable right to freedom and independence.
