Occupied Dakhla, 29 June 2025 (SPS) – The occupied city of Dakhla has witnessed protests on Saturday demanding the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination and independence, calling for an end to the Moroccan occupation and the release of Sahrawi civilian prisoners held in Moroccan jails.
Participants in the protests—organized by heroes of the independence uprising—chanted slogans calling for the withdrawal of the Moroccan occupation from Sahrawi territories, the release of all Sahrawi prisoners detained in Moroccan jails, and reaffirming the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination and independence.
Additionally, the protesters reiterated their determination to continue the struggle and peaceful resistance until the independence of Western Sahara is achieved.
The demonstrations were suppressed by Moroccan security forces, in line with the occupying Moroccan policy of denying Sahrawis their right to peaceful protest.
