
Algiers, June 3, 2025 (SPS) – The Presidents of Algeria and Rwanda, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Paul Kagame, reaffirmed their support for the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination through a free, fair, and impartial referendum.
During a joint press conference as part of Rwandan President Paul Kagame’s state visit to Algeria, the two leaders exchanged views on areas of tension and conflict in Africa. They emphasized their support for the Sahrawi people and their right to self-determination through a free, fair, and transparent referendum, in accordance with international legitimacy.
Regarding the Palestinian issue, the two presidents expressed deep concern over the situation in the Gaza Strip, stressing the urgent need to halt the aggression against the Palestinian people, ensure the swift delivery of humanitarian aid, and uphold the Palestinian people’s right to establish their independent state along the 1967 borders with Al-Quds as its capital.
The two leaders also discussed the situation in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), stating: "We reiterated our full support for ongoing efforts to reach a comprehensive political solution."
