
Managua (Nicaragua), May 13, 2025 (SPS) – The Republic of Nicaragua has reaffirmed its steadfast position in support of the Sahrawi people’s right to freedom and independence.
In a letter addressed to his Sahrawi counterpart, Mohamed Yeslem Beissat, on the occasion of his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sahrawi Republic, Nicaragua’s Foreign Minister, Valdrack Jaentschke, expressed "on behalf of the people and the Government of Reconciliation and National Unity, under the leadership of President Daniel Ortega and Vice President Rosario Murillo Zambrana, our warmest congratulations on your recent appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic."
The Nicaraguan Foreign Minister reiterated "the unwavering commitment to continue strengthening the historic bonds of brotherhood, solidarity, and cooperation that unite our two peoples, governments, and political parties, while recognizing the inalienable right of the Sahrawi people to independence, self-determination, and the building of a more just world."
