Wilaya of Dakhla, April 19, 2025 (SPS) – On the sidelines of the 10th Congress of the General Union of Workers of Saguia el-Hamra and Rio de Oro (UGTSARIO), a solidarity vigil was held today in support of the international campaign for the release of Sahrawi political prisoners in Moroccan jails. The event was attended by a human rights delegation from the occupied territories.
The vigil featured an address by Mustafa Mohamed Ali Sid al-Bashir, Minister of Occupied Territories and Diaspora Affairs, who highlighted the conditions of Sahrawi political prisoners and the growing international and national solidarity achieved by the campaign for their release. He emphasized the unity of the Sahrawi people in standing with the prisoners.
The minister called for resisting enemy conspiracies and continuing the struggle despite challenges.
Participants expressed their solidarity with the prisoners and their families, who endure daily hardships to travel and visit their loved ones in distant prisons.
