Wilaya of Dakhla, April 18, 2025 (SPS) – The delegations participating in the 10th Conference of the General Union of Workers of Saguia el-Hamra and Río de Oro (UGTSARIO) expressed their solidarity with the just struggle of the Sahrawi people and their support for Sahrawi workers, both in the refugee camps and in the occupied territories.
In this context, delegations from Algeria (including the Secretary-General of the African Trade Union Unity, the Algerian Workers' Union, the Algerian Jurists' Forum, and the National Independent Council of Imams and Employees of the Religious Affairs and Endowments Sector), the Secretary-General of the Mauritanian Workers' Trade Union, the General Confederation of Portuguese Workers, the Cuban Workers' Center, the Trade Union Federation of Workers of Burkina Faso and Niger, Canary Islands workers, and others reaffirmed their solidarity with Sahrawi workers and praised their relentless efforts for the liberation of their people.
The speakers emphasized that the struggle of Sahrawi workers stems from the legitimate fight of the Sahrawi people—a struggle against colonial forces that must ultimately succeed in achieving the independence of the Sahrawi people.
These interventions took place during the first day of the 10th UGTSARIO conference, which began this morning in the wilaya of Dakhla, Sahrawi refugee camps.
