The lecture was titled "The Sahrawi Cause: An Example of an Unresolved Conflict."
The Dean of Tifariti University addressed the legal nature of the Sahrawi issue as a decolonization matter registered with the United Nations, as well as the UN resolutions issued by the Security Council, which the Moroccan occupation has met with obstinacy and non-compliance.
The Dean also highlighted the membership of the Sahrawi state in the African Union, emphasizing its crucial role in providing support, solidarity, and Africa's commitment to justice and the right of peoples to self-determination.
The lecture touched on the dire human rights situation in the occupied territories of Western Sahara and the grave violations committed against the Sahrawi people. The Dean explained the methods of media blackout imposed on the occupied territories.
The lecture also provided an opportunity to address the illegal plundering of Sahrawi natural resources by the Moroccan occupation, as well as the recent historic ruling by the European Court of Justice, which nullified the economic agreements between Morocco and the European Union that included the territory of Western Sahara.
In concluding the lecture, the Dean of Tifariti University called on researchers and students to shed light on the struggle of the Sahrawi people and contribute to breaking the media blackout imposed on it.
