Wilaya of Smara (Refugee Camps), February 25, 2025 (SPS) - The wilaya of Smara is hosting today, Tuesday, the 25th edition of the sporting event Sahara Marathon, with the participation of over 400 runners representing 32 countries from around the world.
Yesterday, Monday, the organizing committee of the sporting event held a press conference at the regional club of the wilaya of Smara, where they revealed the final preparations, the conditions for organizing the event, and the expected goals.
In this edition, which has been given the slogan "50 Years of Struggle, 25 Years of Running for Freedom," participants will choose between four race distances: 42 km between the wilaya of El aaiun and the wilaya of Smara, 21 km between the wilaya of Auserd and and the wilaya of Smara, 10 km in the wilaya of Smara, and 5 km also in the wilaya of Smara, in addition to a special race for children.
