Algiers, January 14, 2025 (SPS) - The President of the Algerian Constitutional Court, Mr. Omar Belhaj, received Tuesday at the headquarters of the Constitutional Court, Mr. Mohamed Bouzeid, President of the Sahrawi Constitutional Council.
During their talks, both officials praised the deep relationships between the two brotherly countries, both in government and among their peoples, and the high level of bilateral cooperation they have achieved. They discussed ways and prospects for enhancing this cooperation in various fields.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the two parties signed a memorandum of understanding between the Constitutional Court and the Sahrawi Constitutional Council, aimed at strengthening relations in consultation, sharing experiences, visits, and knowledge between the two countries in the fields of constitutional law and constitutional justice.
It is worth noting that the Sahrawi Constitutional Council is a founding member of the Conference of African Constitutional Judicial Bodies, which was established at the initiative of Algeria, which hosted the founding conference held on May 7 and 8, 2011, with the participation of 25 African countries.
