Wilaya of Smara, December 27, 2024 (SPS) - The regional club in the Wilaya of Smara, Sahrawi refugee camps, hosted Friday an event to commemorate the 46th anniversary of the decease of the late President Houari Boumediene. This occasion served to reflect on the man's stances towards just causes, particularly the Sahrawi issue.
The event was attended by several officials, including the Minister of Education and Vocational Training, Khatri Adouh, the Governor of the wilaya of Smara, Azza Bobih, as well as student delegation from the National Voice of Algerian Students.
During the event, the legacy of the late President Houari Boumediene and his visionary approach to defending just causes was highlighted.
The discussions also touched on Boumediene's significant efforts to support the Sahrawi people in its struggle against occupation, despite the neutral stance of many Arab countries. The Algerian position remained steadfast, rejecting any settlement at the expense of the rights of the Sahrawi people.
Members of the Algerian delegation emphasized that commemorating the decease of the late Houari Boumediene in the Sahrawi refugee camps reflects the deep historical ties and shared destiny between the Algerian and Sahrawi peoples, reaffirming the commitment of the younger generations to continue the struggle for sovereignty and freedom.
