Shaheed El-Hafed, November 26, 2024 (SPS) - The Sahrawi Republic, represented by member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Mohamed Sidati, participated in a remote conference for the 34th Extraordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union.
During his intervention, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Mohamed Sidati, praised the consensus among African leaders on the necessity of liberating the continent from all forms of colonialism. He noted that the Organization of African Unity was among the international and continental organizations that made liberation its supreme goal and that defending the rights of peoples to self-determination and independence is its primary principle. He affirmed that the declaration by the leaders of independent African states in the early sixties to establish the continental organization aimed primarily to support African peoples struggling against colonialism and racial discrimination.
Alongside the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Mohamed Sidati, the Ambassador to Ethiopia, Permanent Representative to the African Union, Mr. Lamine Baali, also participated in the conference.
