Wilaya of Smara, November 19, 2024 (SPS) - Mr. Dida Daf, Head of the Daira of Mahbes, received at the Daira headquarters a delegation from the Municipality of Sesto Fiorentino in the Tuscany region of Italy to attend the celebration marking the 40th anniversary of the twinning agreement between the two municipalities.
The Italian delegation, headed by Serena Sassolini, Chair of the Municipal Council of Sesto Fiorentino, included Ottavia Viti, Head of Cooperation at the Municipality of Montespertoli, representatives from associations supporting the Sahrawi people, as well as professors and students from the region.
During the ceremony held at the Daira headquarters, which was attended by the representative of the Polisario Front in Tuscany, Mr. Abdullah Boushaiba, and a large group of citizens from the Daira, both sides exchanged speeches summarizing four decades of cooperation and solidarity that have strengthened the ties between the two municipalities.
Both parties affirmed that the 40 years of the twinning agreement between the Daira of Mahbes and Sesto Fiorentino exemplifies international cooperation and a commitment to the values of solidarity and mutual support.
They emphasized that the activities carried out under the twinning agreement highlight the importance of these connections and their positive impact on both municipalities.
