Quito (Ecuador), November 19, 2024 (SPS) - The second virtual international diploma in studies on Africa, the Middle East, and Asia is launched Tuesday at the headquarters of the Latin American Peoples Foundation in the Ecuadorian capital.
This initiative is supervised by the Department of Studies at the University of Tifariti in collaboration with friendship associations with the Sahrawi people in Colombia and Ecuador.
This unprecedented initiative in this country and region issues a second call for participation aimed at social activists, leaders, human rights defenders, university students, and professionals in the social sciences, law, and international relations in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The aim of this second diploma course is to enhance knowledge regarding the peculiarities of Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, and their connections with Latin America and the Caribbean as a whole. The course will study the key focal points of conflicts and regional tensions, as well as identify the political, economic, and social complexities that characterize these regions and continents in order to understand the emergence of a new multipolar world.
Academics and experts from Argentina, Cuba, Ecuador, Spain, Italy, Iran, and Western Sahara will participate in this initiative, addressing the background of the subject and the current situation in the continents and regions under study.
Topics include the relationship between Cuba and the African continent, the self-determination process in East Timor, genocide and apartheid in occupied Palestine, the struggle of the Sahrawi people in international forums, particularly the United Nations, and the role of China, Iran, and Russia in the emerging multipolar world.
To facilitate the enrollment of as many students as possible, not only from Latin America and the Caribbean but also from other continents, the Center for Studies at the University of Tifariti has established the Martyr Mohammed Abdelaziz scholarship for all applicants to the international virtual diploma course.
