Shaheed Al-Hafed, October 30, 2024 (WAS) - The African Union International Centre for the Education of Girls and Women in Africa (AU/CIEFFA) supervised on Wednesday the launch of the "Africa Educates Her" campaign in the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.
The campaign was inaugurated by member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, Minister of Education and Vocational Training, Mr. Khattri Addouh, in the presence of the Minister of Social Affairs and Women's Empowerment, Ms. Swelma Birouk; the Commissioner for Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation of the African Union, Professor Mohamed Belhocine; the Ambassador to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union, Mr. Lamine Baali; officials from the African Union International Centre for the Education of Girls and Women in Africa (AU/CIEFFA); national partners; students; and members of the Sahrawi educational system.
The "Africa Educates Her" campaign aims to empower girls across the African continent to access quality education, recognizing the importance of girls' education as a tool for achieving sustainable development, eradicating poverty, and promoting gender equality.
