Bir Lahlou (liberated territories), 18 October 2024 (SPS) - Units of the Sahrawi Popular Liberation Army (SPLA) continue to target the positions of the Moroccan occupation army in the Haouza and El Farsiya sectors, stated a communiqué from the Central Directorate of the Political Commissariat of the Sahrawi Army on Thursday.
"Advanced detachments of the SPLA bombarded the positions of the Moroccan occupation soldiers in the regions of Rous Oued Soual, Fedret Tmat, and Fedret in the Haouza sector, as well as a command post of a battalion belonging to the Moroccan army in the El Farsiya sector," the communiqué said.
The SPLA attacks continue against the Moroccan occupation forces, "inflicting heavy human and material losses on them," the communiqué concludes. In his address to the 75th session of the UNHCR Executive Council, held in Geneva from October 14 to 18, Ambassador Bladehane encouraged international humanitarian agencies and donors to "contribute" to implementing the support plan for the 173,600 Sahrawi refugees in need.
