Athlone (Ireland), September 28, 2024 (SPS) - The representative of the Polisario Front in Ireland, Nafei Rais, took part in the annual conference of the Sinn Féin party, which began on Friday in the city of Athlone, at an official invitation extended by the party to the Polisario Front, expressing its support for the rights of the Sahrawi people.
The conference provided an opportunity for the Sahrawi diplomat to meet with the party's leadership and its elected representatives, expressing his gratitude for the invitation to attend the conference. He explained to his interlocutors the long and ongoing struggle of the Sahrawi people for the inalienable rights to self-determination, freedom, and liberation from the Moroccan illegal occupation of Western Sahara.
The conference also provided an opportunity for the Sahrawi diplomat to meet with representatives of several foreign parties participating from South Africa, Spain, Denmark, Austria, Turkey, and from the United European Left, where he briefed them on the developments of the Sahrawi cause and ways to enhance communications and cooperation between these parties and the Polisario Front.
