Dublin (Ireland), May 14, 2024 (WAS) - Members of the Irish Parliament have reaffirmed their full support for the Sahrawi cause and the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination. This came during a meeting held on Tuesday at the Parliament headquarters with Mr. Nafei Rais, the representative of the Polisario Front in Ireland.
The deputies, who belong to the Fianna Fáil party, the main component of the governing coalition, as well as the Green Party, which participates in the government, and the Sinn Féin opposition party, along with an independent senator, all agreed on the justice of the Sahrawi cause as a decolonization issue. They expressed their readiness to accompany the Sahrawi people in achieving their noble goals, guaranteed by international law and humanitarian legitimacy.
For his part, the representative of the Polisario Front in Ireland briefed the deputies on the latest developments in the Sahrawi issue, emphasizing that the celebration of the Sahrawi people on the 51st anniversary of its legitimate and sole representative, the Polisario Front, is clear evidence of the justice of the Sahrawi cause and the determination of the Sahrawi people to achieve their inalienable goal of self-determination and independence.
