Shaheed El-Hafed, April 29, 2024 (SPS) - The Sahrawi Football Federation praised the decision of the USM Alger (Union sportive de la médina d'Alger) regarding the Sahrawi issue during their match against a Moroccan club in the CAF Confederation Cup finals.
In a statement, the Federation expressed its condemnation of the attempt to undermine FIFA's international regulations, and it commended the courageous decision of the USM Alger club. The statement also appreciated the decision of the Algerian club authorities to reject the entry of the Moroccan club's jerseys bearing a map of Morocco that includes the occupied Western Sahara.
The statement confirmed the Sahrawi Football Federation's determination to take all legal measures that would criminalize these actions and prevent their recurrence in the future. It considered that such actions would lead sports to deviate from its noble path.
