Annaba University hosts anniversary on SADR proclamation

Annaba (Algeria), March 01, 2016 (SPS) - Western Sahara Student League in Algeria jointly with Badji Mokhtar University of Annaba commemorated yesterday the fortieth anniversary of the proclamation of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, with the presence of political and academics figures.

The university president Dr. Ammar Haiahemwelcomed the participants, stressing the Algerian firm position towards Saharawi people cause.

from his parts, representative of the Algerian National Committee of Solidarity with the Saharawi people in Annaba Mr. Numan Al-Saeed said in his speech that all the Algerian civil society stands with the Saharawi cause, calling on the United Nations and the international community to intensify efforts for the decolonization of Western Sahara and to end the suffering of the Saharawi people.

The ceremony witnessed two lectures the first about the historical and legal dimension, by Dr. Mr. Baba Siad and the second by international law expert Dr. Sweileh Boujemaa on the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice concerning the legal status of the cause of the Saharawi people.SPS
