Shahid El Hafed (refugee camps), 5 September 2022 (SPS) - The head of the Sahrawi negotiating delegation, Khatri Addouh, affirmed Sunday that Morocco is playing with international legality and all efforts undertaken to settle the conflict in Western Sahara.
"All the efforts of the UN have failed to advance the decolonization process in Western Sahara despite the good intentions, genius, character of all the successive UN personal envoys and the availability of the Sahrawi side," said Mr. Addouh to the press after his second meeting with the Personal Envoy of the UN SG, Staffan de Mistura.
Recalling the new international and regional situation facing the conflict in Western Sahara, the Sahrawi official indicated that "Morocco is still living in the past trying to impose its policy of fait accompli, which is far from influencing the will of the Sahrawi people, determined to continue the struggle to achieve their right to self-determination.
He added that "the Personal Envoy of the UN SG, continues his visit to the region to deepen the meetings and talks between the two parties (Morocco and Polisario Front) and the observer countries (Algeria and Mauritania).
