Dakhla (Sahrawi refugee camps), July 08, 2016 (SPS) - The struggle of the Sahrawi people to snatch their independence “is also ours,” affirmed Friday, in Dakhla, Salvadorian senator Manuel Flares.
 
“The struggle of the Sahrawi people to snatch their independence is ours because it is a just struggle,” said Manuel Flares in a statement to APS, in the works of the extraordinary congress of the Front Polisario which kicked this morning.

Algeria reaffirms its support for the just cause of the Saharawi people

Dakhla (Saharawi refugee camps), July 08, 2016 (SPS) – Algeria through the Minister of the Mujahideen, Mr. Teib Zetouni Friday reiterated  its firm position to support the just cause of the Saharawi people.
The Algerian Minister expressed support and full solidarity of the Government and the Algerian people with the Saharawi people and their just struggle for freedom and independence.

Dakhla (Saharawi Refugee Camps July 08, 2016 (SPS) - the Extraordinary Congress of the Polisario Front kicks off today its works in the Saharawi refugee camp of Dahkla, under the slogan "Strength, Determination and Will to impose national independence and sovereignty," with the participation of 2434 Saharawi delegates and a large number of foreign guests.

Luanda, July 07, 2016 (SPS) - The vice president of Angola,Mr. Manuel Domingos Vicente reiterated  Thursday his country firm and historical position for the just struggle of the Saharawi people for independence and self-determination " during a reception of the Ambassador Saharawi, Mr. Abah Cheikh Mohamed recently appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and plenipotentiary of SADR to the Republic of Angola.
 

MEP demands from EU Commission to justify cut in aid to Sahrawi refugees

Brussels, July 07, 2016 (SPS) - MEP Neoklis Sylikiotis required from the European Commission to justify its proposal to make cuts in humanitarian aid to the Saharawi refugees in the Tindouf camps, in contradiction with UN calls to increase aid to the people of occupied Western Sahara.
The Member of the European Parliament said that such a decision of the European Union "will worsen the already dire situation" in these refugee camps mainly because of "floods" that hit the region.

Algeria's ambassador to EU rejects MEP's "baseless" assertion

Brussels, July 4, 2016 (SPS) - Ambassador of Algeria to Brussels Amar Bellani rejected the "baseless" assertion of an MEP, according to which the conflict in Western Sahara has become a "political internal matter" for Algeria, recalling that the European Union supports a solution enabling the Sahrawi people to exercise their right to self-determination."

CONASADH denounces Morocco's restrictive policies against Sahrawi activists

Bir Lahlou (liberated territories), July 4, 2016 (SPS) - Sahrawi Human Rights Commission (CONASADH) has denounced Moroccan authorities' policies restricting freedom of expression of Sahrawi activists for their political positions.
In a statement released Sunday, the Sahrawi Commission dubbed Moroccan authorities' decision to prevent Sahrawi activist Ambarka Alina from travelling "grave violation of international law," and denounced the military siege on the occupied territories of Western Sahara and denying access of observers to the territories.

UN decolonization committee to meet on Western Sahara soon

Washington (United Nations), July 3, 2016 (SPS) - United Nations Special Committee on Decolonization (Committee of 24) is to hold a special session on Western Sahara shortly, said the agency's chairman, Rafael Dario Ramirez Carreno.
The committee's members have agreed on holding the meeting to push forward the decolonization process in Western Sahara, through an "effective and broad" exchange of ideas on the issue, Ramirez Carreno said.

The Western Sahara Petroleum and Minerals Commission welcomes the decision of Norway’s Sovereign Wealth Fund to withdraw its investments in companies Cairn Energy of the UK and Kosmos Energy of the US for their involvement in the looting the wealth of through illegal and unethical investment operations in the occupied part of Western Sahara.
