43th anniversary of Sahrawi armed struggle outbreak celebrated in Japan

Tokyo, May 21,2016 (SPS) - Senator Satsuki Eda and Algerian Ambassador to Japan H.E. Mohamed El Amine Bencherif and SJJA members held Friday  a meeting to celebrate the Saharawi 43 anniversary of the outbreak of armed struggle, at the Member’s office building of House of Councilors of Japan.
Senator Satsuki Eda is the founder of SJPFA (Saharawi Japan Parliamentarians’ Friendship Association). He was the 27th President of House of Councilors, the 87th Minister of Justice, and the 16th Minister for the Environment.

EU expresses support to MINURSO, underlines importance of its mandate

Polisario Front denounces sand plundering of Western Sahara by a Spanish company

Canary Islqnd, May 18, 2016 (SPS) - The Polisario Front delegation to the Canary Islands on Tuesday denounced the import of beaches sand of El Aaiun, the occupied capital of Western Sahara by Spanish society Anfi Tauro SA for the establishment of an artificial beach in the municipality of Mogan.
 

Canary Island delegation in a visit to Sahrawi Refugee Camps

Chahid El Hafed, May 18, 2016 (SPS) - Delegation from Canary Island began on Wednesday an official visit to the Saharawi refugee camps in the framework of solidarity with the Saharawi people and their just cause.
 
The delegation consists of 60 members from various Canarian institutions, they will participate in the celebrations commemorating 43th anniversary of the outbreak of armed struggle scheduled to be on May 20 in the wilaya of Auserd.

Moroccan occupation forces crack down an unemployed Saharawi peaceful sit-in in Occupied Aaiun

El Aaiun (occupied capital of Western Sahara), May 18, 2016 (SPS) - Moroccan repression forces have brutally dispersed a peaceful sit-in organized Monday by unemployed Saharawi in Occupied Aaiun.
The brutal intervention leaving injured among the protesters, including Mohamed Salem Alouat and Mohamed Molud Mansur were evacuated to hospital, according to a source from the Ministry of Occupied Territories and Communities Abroad.

Education Minister oversees Pedagogical National Institute of formation batch graduation

Galicia (Spain), May 17, 2016 (SPS) - Joint Group of Peace and freedom for the Sahrawi people in the Parliament of Galicia, which prevented from entering the Occupied Territories by the Moroccan occupation authorities, expressed its deep concern on the siege imposed on the occupied territories of Western Sahara, in a letter of condemnation to the Security Council, the Spanish government and the European parliament.

Belgium: Sahrawi Diaspora celebrates 43rd anniversary of Polisario Front’s creation

Anvers (Belgium), May 15, 2016 (SPS) - The Sahrawi community in Belgium celebrated, Saturday, the 43rd anniversary of the creation of the Front Polisario (10 May 1973), and the triggering of the armed fight for the liberation of Western Sahara, ten days later.
Enumerating the many achievements made in various fields since the creation of the Polisario Front, its representative in Belgium, Jamal Zakari, reaffirmed the Sahrawi people’s determination to continue their fight until independence.

Minister of National Defense receives NARC Deputy Executive Secretary

Shaheed El Hafed, May 15, 2016 (SPS) - Minister of National Defense, Lehbib Abdellahi met, on Saturday at the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense, with Deputy Executive Secretary of the North African Regional Capacity (NARC), Ali Mohamed Niab.
The meeting was attended by the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Sahrawi National Liberation Army and NARC.
The two sides discussed ways to strengthen the African force and the potential role of the Sahrawi Republic in its capacity as a founding member of the African Union.

German deputies call for organization of referendum in Western Sahara

Managua (Nicaragua) May 14, 2016 (SPS) - Saharawi ambassador to Nicaragua, Sulaiman Al-Tayeb, said in a statement to Cuban News Agency, Prensa Latina, that Morocco continues to impede negotiations with the Polisario Front in order to find a just solution that ensures the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination. 
The Sahrawi diplomat indicated that following its crisis with the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Morocco expelled the civil contingence of the United Nations Mission in Western Sahara (MINURSO).
