
Algiers, April 28, 2025 (SPS) – Mr. Khalifa Smati, President of the Algerian Sons of Martyrs Organization, reaffirmed his organization's support and solidarity with the Sahrawi people's just struggle, a stance rooted in the principles and values of the November 1st Revolution and the Algerian people's own liberation struggle.
This reaffirmation came during a solidarity conference with the Sahrawi people held at the Sons of Martyrs Organization headquarters. The organization's president emphasized that the Sahrawi people are waging a liberation war to reclaim their inalienable rights to freedom and independence, highlighting their unwavering determination over more than 50 years to assert this legitimate right and build their Sahrawi Republic.
For his part, Abdelkader Taleb Omar, member of the National Secretariat, Ambassador to Algeria, provided an overview of recent developments in the Sahrawi cause, including the periodic briefing by UN envoy Staffan de Mistura to the UN Security Council, as well as the international support the Sahrawi issue continues to garner.
The ambassador praised Algeria's steadfast support for the Sahrawi people, grounded in the historical and militant ties between the two peoples. He also expressed deep gratitude to Algerian civil society for its ongoing cooperation, solidarity, and efforts in championing the Sahrawi cause.
